PlaniX - Resource finite capacity scheduler
home > products > PlaniX - Resource finite capacity scheduler
Planix generates the short/middle-term operation plan assigning the activities to be performed to the available resources, respecting the restrictions and the priorities scheduled. Planix is also a quick and powerful simulation tool that enables to select the best plan among many alternatives, calculated starting from different operating conditions.
Production planning
PlaniX is based on a powerful finite capacity scheduling engine that assigns the activity to be executed to the available resources, according to “ASAP” or “ALAP”. The order in which the various operations are scheduled depends either on the delivery date or on the selected priority and can be modified by the user.
PlaniX can manage multiple resources (machines, users, materials) and the relating availability calendar. The generated plan is presented to the user either in analytical or graphic mode (Gantt), visualized in different modes (based on resource or production order). The resource use level is visualized in order to detect the presence of critical situations (bottlenecks).
PlaniX can easily be used as simulation tool, to enable the comparison of the results obtained from different processing, varying resource allocation and capacity, order priority, operation sequence. The performance indexes (KPI) enable to evaluate the planning obtained in order to identify the one that best answers the requirements.
PlaniX can easily be interfaced with any MES and is integrated, in native mode, with the ISI-FPS suite products.
Resource management optimization
PlaniX answers the purpose of increasing plant production through the best use of the resources, stock and WIP reduction and lead time shortening. The possibility of passing from a make-to-stock to a quicker make-to-order strategy results in customer service improvement. The customer can be granted shorter delivery times and, above all, fixed delivery dates.
PlaniX enables to shorten fixturing times, grouping similar workings of different orders, to react quickly to failures and to face temporary resources unavailability and other process unexpected occurrences, to forecast and manage work peaks and emergencies.
Performances
- finite capacity scheduling “ASAP” and “ALAP”;
- MES data automatic import (plant configuration, calendars, production orders, cycles, advancement);
- plan display in analytical mode for production orders and operations, highlighting advancement and delay
- plan display in graphic mode (Gantt), with total or by single resource views;
- graphic display of resource exploitation to evaluate in time saturation and availability levels;
- storage of many alternative plans obtained through scheduling in different modes and/or different parameters; possibility of comparing plans through the use of different performance indexes (KPI), user selected;
- possibility of grouping more operations, using defined and selectable parameters, in order to realize a working optimal sequence (ex. to shorten set up times);
- raw material management (current and planned availability according to deliveries), meant as resource used by production orders;
- labor availability management.
Technical data
- 32 bit application, developed in Visual Basic language and working under Windows XP Pro / 2003 / 7 / 2008, Vista;
- Data Base engine total independence (MS Sql Server, Oracle);
- open and scalable architecture that makes the application easily integrable into any company informatics system; it can also be used in stand-alone mode;
- native integrability into ISI-FPS suite products.
